A few of the many Comments from our readers

"Thank you so much for the autographed copy of SHARK PIT! We were absolutely thrilled to receive the package with your new book and the wonderful posters. It came last week, but I didn’t want to write until I had a chance to read your book."

"It was a great read and I am excited to share it with the students, especially the young boys. I know they will be intrigued by the title and relate to the main character, Josh. It is refreshing to be entertained with an exciting adventure story, which at the same time, promotes wholesome family values (I liked the way you show why obeying your parents is important without making the young reader feel like they are being lectured, but rather by showing it with natural consequences in dangerous situations.)"

“Thank you for your generosity and for your kindness in taking time to introduce us to a new series that will appeal to young readers while impacting their lives in a positive way with much needed Christian values. Please keep writing – we are hooked.”.

Comments by Canadian librarians:

“At a time when reading books is losing popularity in favour of electronic entertainment, we are striving to provide wholesome reading material for our students. It has been a challenge to find books that offer exciting stories while still respecting the values that we want to see portrayed.

Over the years, our students read, re-read and wore out our copies of the Ladd Family Adventures, D.J. Dillon, and American Adventure series. We are very pleased to be able to replace the entire Ladd Family series and hope we will soon be able to replace the other series. In order to attract students’ attention, we feature various series in counter-top displays and the books in the Roddy series are always very popular with both boys and girls. Thank you for providing good reading for our young people.”

Re LADD FAMILY ADVENTURES:  “I cannot tell you how happy you have made me with these books. My child will be absolutely thrilled to receive them …and if Mr. Roddy still autographs the books that would be fabulous! My child is a very advanced for this age (8), but he has never really found any books he was crazy about, consequently he would say, ‘I don’t like to read.’ This is deeply disturbing as I am an avid reader. After reading Peril at Pirate’s Point my son proclaimed he 'loves to read.'”

“First, let me say ‘thank you!’ As a teacher, my personal collection of LADD FAMILY ADVENTURE books are always one of the first items I place in my classroom. Each year I require my students to do a book report on one of these books (because I if they read one they will be hooked!) I, too, am concerned with the lack of Christian fiction available to children in the 9-13 age group. What can we do to help promote such publications? God Bless!

R Lee book cover“I read this book over and over again. I enjoyed it so much and I actually slept it because it gave me so much enthusiasm. I was so enthusiastic about ROBERT E. LEE and what he did for our country and how much of a Christian he was. A lot of people don’t see that and they don’t look past the Confederate states. They don’t get what he was really about. He was actually a Christian and he stood for good principles and what he was fighting for He wasn’t slavery; it was states’ rights; it was all about states’ rights. I fully support this book and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading it again.”
